I'm pregnant!
Due in September. Though I hadn't shared the news anyone a month ago when we had a great day with friends and family, I tipped a few people off that I just wasn't myself. Drats.
{I thought I hid it well and I did *hike!* For crying out loud.}
But now the news is out and my girls are watching and waiting. It is their solemn duty. Their conversation starter for those we know and transversely, those we meet in line at the grocery store: Hi. I'm going to be a big sister.
"Okay, when my tummy gets as Big As A Pumpkin, girls, we will then go back to school and have a little brother or sister for you."
I am at least resurfacing from my first phase of feeling unusual and with no indication of brain or energy. Maybe spring will wake me up! I'm sure it will.
And thinking about the year ahead, I finally asked for help. From people who surely meant the offering: the missionaries. They helped our family with the strawberries (that could have been attended to last year, but with no good excuse that I can think of). It was a gift.
And I might ask for more help, because the idea of me yanking a lengthy garden hose around the yard and standing, kneeling, bending for ...anything... isn't going to sound too great by the end of summer.
But we are elated. And I'm regaining focus. I have got some worthy plans this year with the inspiration of a Third and I'm happy to be called mom, practicing my nurturing for all that is living, and relying more honestly on the network of those who care...
Grandpa included, who apparently went to the most boring agricultural meeting of his life hundreds of miles away and mailed us all the merch he swiped at the promotional tables. Keeping us occupied and oh so helpful.
Time to Get Growing. Gestating. Germinating. Giggling.
I sense the reoccurring theme for 2012 at Wood House & Home. So stay tuned.
Let's kiss the last day of winter good bye.
