Confession: I'm starting a tag...?

I was wondering if you have any good tips--
I think those posts where people list their faves and dislikes are fun, and randomly I admit I'm a horrible multi-tasker, so I think I have a good idea. While I was doing one of those important things like cleaning the inside of the microwave, I remembered a sane-making tip to make the whole exciting process go much faster: in a microwave safe bowl, add water and a couple of tablespoons worth of baking soda. Nuke it until it gets the inside of the microwave nice and steamy... carefully remove bowl and just swipe "it" all away with a wad of paper towels! I instantaneously stopped wasting precious minutes on the task, forced to remember old-meal-mementos and other anonymous splatter, and tried this tip. Perfect. Easy. We all have more important things to do. And you can go out and do anything knowing with a cool patch of peace that your microwave is all that it can be.
Do you have a good little tip for some chore? Think about it, you might not even realize it. But "Tag, you're it" because you'll sleep well tonight knowing that you've made my life easier and you've been rewarded with a squeaky clean microwave, with ease, for life.
Disclaimer: You're microwave may or may not look as cool nor your kitchen as pristine as the one in the photo upon completing the suggestion above. Mine doesn't.

Milestone #376-a

Milestone: 376-a
Date: 01-02-09
Person(s): AllieCat
Place: In Subject's booster seat/ kitchen table
Summation: Picky-eater makes the best of an unfavorable situation; unfortunately making said situation much worse.
Case Description: At appx. 6pm AllieCat doesn't want to more than "lick" her peas (this is her compromise with her mother). As dinner progresses, AllieCat says loudly, "NOSE?" Mom looks to her and AllieCat has her finger deep into her nose. (She's never done that before) Mom says, "No, yuckie! Don't put your finger in your nose, okay? Eat your yummy dinner." Mom reports that AllieCat grabs a pea and put it just up to her nose, and says "Okay..."
"Not okay, leave Nose alone, That would be not good. Please eat >Num< >Num<" AllieCat looks at mom as if she was determined that it was indeed okay to spend so much time with her nose.
Then Mom has a hunch and asks AllieCat if she had put a pea in her nose. AllieCat then proceeds to flair her nostrils. And panics. Mom bends down under her face and looks up. Yes. Yes there is a pea WAY WAY up Allie's nose. At this point, Mom calls in Reinforcements, "Jake! Jake!! Allie just stuck a pea up her nose! Come Here!" (Jake was not present initially.) Jake proceeds to come in to the room with Standard Issue Equipment, the camera. Jake assists by snapping pictures of AllieCat in dire panic while Mom rummages in baby stuff to find the bulb suction thing. It doesn't work very well so Jake presses on her sinuses (she's getting pretty snotty out of survival, anyway) to push it out, and I am able to get it.
Note: Most have never seen her like this. What proceeds is not for the faint of heart. Please view with caution. If you are medical personnel or a mom, you are welcome to click on the picture to enlarge it. Only if you look close enough, will you see The Pea.
This was taken "mid-milestone." Photo courtesy of Jake. Follow Up: We cleaned her up from the state she was in in the photo. AllieCat, Jake, and Mom went to the Stake Family Dance for a time and all persons involved in the case had a great rest-of-the-evening, dancing the night away.

Define: Ghetto Fab

"A slight step up from ghetto. The difference between ghetto and ghetto fab is ghetto is rock bottom skid-row but ghetto fab has a 'bling' associated with it." -Courtesy of urbandictionary.com

So, does this count? Our heater broke in the play/computer room New Year's Eve morning. We got a baseboard style from Home Depot instead. Poor Jake just can't replace the drywall where the broken heater is right now and the baseboard can keep up better with how cold that room gets, anyway. So to have everything fit together in the space, it was easier to
( ghetto fab: ) cut out a spot in the old grill using a dremel allowing everything to still look 'stream-lined.' He did a really neat job. Every project has a story. Maybe he'll fix it later, but.. then it will no longer be ghetto fab any more. We'll see.
