What do a tree, tomatoes, violets, and vines all have in common? They're all thriving in our 4x10 plot! We've gotten positive feedback from neighbors last year and this regarding our balcony garden-- my tip is, if you want a lot of green for not a lot of cash, plant vegetables. Bigger, cheaper, and hardier. I love the thought of 'decoration' having a purpose. This year it was spinach and peas. And more coleus to come. All types are welcome. Baby-girl-variety, too. Allison loves to play out there, but she will know real joy when we have a yard! In the picture, and for now, she will stand until her legs shake to play with the shells and smooth stones we have collected from our family outings on our little cement garden bench. Obviously, Allie's the is the prettiest thing growing out there.
