Drum Roll Please

Insider Scoop

It was a nice day today, breezy but at least not snowing. The tourists were out- taking pictures in front of Bella Italia Restaurant for "Twilight."
Can I say that I'm kind of tired of it all ready? Not as badly as some others around these parts.
Jake saw this on the Forks Forum Opinion Page the other day.... interesting at least! I don't know much, but most people who live in Forks live there to be secluded and out-of-the-way. And living in Forks will do a good job of that!! (Just to give you the scoop "from someone on the inside." -Poor Stephanie-)

Sees Twilight as a bad influence
Where is there one man in this town who will stand up against this Twilight series and point out that it is occult, it is evil, it brings the forces of darkness to Forks, according to God’s word, the uncopyrighted version of the Bible? Is there one, just, God-fearing man here in Forks to stand up for Jesus Christ against this spiritual assault on our children?
It is foolhardy to welcome the forces of darkness into our midst.
Where is there one man, who knows the Bible, who knows that this Twilight series and this wicked author Stephanie Meyers, is a demonic spiritual assault on this town? Is there one man who will courageously stand up for the cause of Christ in Forks and admonish the businesspeople, who so carelessly put our children at risk, for profit?
Our youth are too naive and inexperienced to be aware of the consequences of dabbling in the occult.
Have we ever desired fame? Shall we mock our Creator and think we can get away with it? Shall we book tours, sell posters, accommodate midnight releases, plan festivals, dedicate holidays, to the forces of spiritual darkness? For money?
Have we taken leave of our senses?

Family Night

I just had to let ya'll know we are really gaining some momentum on this next princess coming our way. I've got my playoff baby name bracket pretty much filled out, talking about what we'd like to get done before Miss Girl gets here, and of course, there's always nest-fluffing.
It's really deepening our sense of reality I guess--Jake was sharing just yesterday in Family Home Evening a subject of his choice... what did we have a discussion on? Dating. Welp. There you go folks. A true Dad through and through!

And yes, shot guns on the front porch were part of the dialogue with Allie.

And yes, Jake thinks he's Haas.

Where Am I?

This week we were tanked with snow! A typical Washington Rain over-night, the next day gloomy and green. Allie and I went for a drive that evening (just to get out of the house for a few minutes) and the sky was Clear and Cold. What were the heavens concocting next? Oh, about Eight Inches of snow for our yard to wake up to the next morning. It fell fast and furious and we just watched. Icy beneath. Mounds upon mounds. Not finishing our discussion about what we could start doing to work on our yard. It stuck around for a few days, giving school kids one more reprieve from class attendance. People a reason to stay in... -And I suppose I do need to be more responsible with my excitement and lay off the gardening blog posts, catalogs, etc for a while!
In the end, it all made for a uniquely beautiful day in the neighborhood.

Who'd have guessed?
